Once again, NO, abortion is not legal in the United States
Pro-lifers and abolitionists alike need to repent
A couple of hours ago T. Russell Hunter, the influential founder of Abolitionists Rising, posted the following on X.
One of the primary reasons that abortion remains legal in the United States of America is because people like me, who totally understand what’s going on, who are not deceived by the various schemes and plots deployed by powers, principalities, and propagandists in high places designed to delay the establishment of justice; who understand what the Lord requires of us (justice, mercy, and faithfulness); who are convinced that the Lord our God will assist us in the work of abolition and empower us to toss the mountain of child-sacrifice into the sea; who know that God can do all things through us, His helpmate bride and body of Christ; — become lazy, sinful, and self-indulgent to the point that we put our own personal peace and affluence over and above applying the golden rule to the least of these who are being murdered in our midst.
Woe to those of us who know what the Lord requires and will do through us who put our own desires, platforms, and dreams before the work of the Gospel in this present darkness.
I am guilty of my own abortion apathy, self-love, and lukewarm indifference. God help me the chief of sinners in this regard.
May He grant me repentance and strength to rise up, do exploits, and carry out works in keeping with the high calling I have in Christ Jesus my Lord. A//∀
My response to Russell:
One of the primary reasons that "abortion remains legal" is because pro-lifers and abolitionists keep saying it's legal, when it's not. They stubbornly continue to start out from the bottom of a deep hole they've dug for themselves, for no good moral, constitutional, legal, or political reason. Repent of that, brother, and we'll all instantly have made a huge stride forward in this bloody fight.
Abortion/feticide/child murder grossly violates God's moral law which is the cornerstone of our national charter, the Declaration of Independence, the explicit, imperative equal protection and due process requirements of several amendments to our Constitution, which is the supreme law of our land, the equal protection and due process requirements of all of our state constitutions, as well as every stated purpose of all of those constitutions, without exception.
Go ahead and amend constitutions to strengthen protections for human life, or add statutes that clarify and strengthen protections for life, if you feel you must. But stop pretending that we have to, in order to stop the mass murder called abortion.

That right there, friend, is all the "legal" you need to stop the illegal practice of murdering babies in this country.
All that is lacking are a sufficient number of leaders with the understanding and the will to do it.
I hope and pray that you have the maturity, Russell, to accept this repeated correction on this crucial point in the spirit in which it is offered, which is the spirit of truth, love, and concern for you and the many souls God has graced you with the ability to influence.

I’m not saying that abortion is lawful. I’m just using the word “legal” to mean that it’s practice with the protection of our governing authorities. Are you saying that abortion does not happen and that our governing authorities are not disobediently allowing it?

Continuing to say abortion is legal, when it is not, and never can be, misleads people, and undermines all the foundations of our moral, constitutional, and legal arguments. And it gains you nothing other than availing yourself of a lazy, false, shortcut. It's perfectly fine to say that abortions are currently being done under the color of law. That's accurate, and points people to the truth, which is that under true law, and under our Constitution, the supreme law of our land, abortion is NOT, and never can be, legal.
It took me a while to get this. Thank you, Tom, for your persistence. A primary feature of the bankrupt prolife movement is not speaking truthfully about this and many other matters. Truth is a hallmark of the Christian life.
